Kite-surf friendly!
As a kite-surfer myself going to a new spot it is every time a new adventure. Some of them can be special because of the weather, some other for the beach condition or the people. For those that have visited Mikri Vigla already you probably know the localities.
Mikri Vigla for me it’s an ideal spot both for learning and progressing and during the day you can find your times for going calm or full power. The north beach of Mikri Vigla, its mostly ‘’working’’ with Meltemi wind during or off season with normal north, north west or west winds, always on-shore or side on-shore! Meltemi normally starts in the morning and calms down again at night (after or before sunset). Normally during the day the speed changes (calmer in the morning, stronger in the midday). In average 17-22 knots. (Some days reaching out even 35-37). And the advantage of Meltemi is that you find many windy days in a row (Summer months, mostly July can have more than 20-25 good windy days)
You find a long sandy beach (medium sand thickness ) and wide enough in the middle. It gets deep quickly that helps a lot to make you feel safe with crashing your self or your equipment. There are small and long waves because of the depth.
People on the beach are like a family. You can feel the friendly climate directly. Its not a coincidence that many are coming for years, again and again:) If you want to rent equipment there are 2 very nice kite surfing clubs with good quality and prices. For learning the conditions are also great and the prices are good without missing any of a great service.
On the south beach its also possible to kite, however its understandable that to be on-shore you need south wind. The waters there are less deep and with less bigger waves on the south windy days (you can have them in end September-October). The beach is very long and sandy too.

Its preferred to stay in Mikri Vigla so you can feel the conditions better and decide when you prefer to have a session and choose the perfect kite size and of course don’t miss time for kitesufing with being on the road! We also provide space for store and wash your equipment and a screen with the live forecast on the pool side.
